Privacy
Policy

Last updated: October 2026

The 2024 Awards is a private annual event. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

When you submit your email address through our updates signup form, we collect:

  • Email address — provided directly by you.
  • IP address — recorded automatically by our hosting provider (Netlify) as part of processing the form submission. This is a standard part of how web servers operate.

We do not collect any other personal information through this website. RSVP and voting forms are hosted externally (Google Forms) and are subject to Google's own privacy policy.

Why we collect it

Your email address is collected solely to send you updates about The 2024 Awards — including when nominations open, voting goes live, and event announcements. We will not use it for any other purpose, and we will not share it with third parties for marketing.

How it's stored

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, Inc., a US-based web hosting service. By submitting your email address, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to and stored on servers located outside of Australia, principally in the United States. Netlify's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.

We access submitted email addresses directly from the Netlify dashboard. We do not operate any separate database.

How long we keep it

We retain email addresses on the Netlify platform for the duration of the event cycle. After the event concludes, submissions will be deleted. You may request deletion at any time before then — see below.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of your information at any time.
  • Opt out of further communications.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no charge.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Access to form submissions is limited to the event organisers.
